This is similar to my post about SEO and Mambo, but for a more specific reason. At our work, we have several people that will be working on a site....One technical writer, 2 graphics people, our manager, and myself as the webmaster and SEO. I initially thought about Mambo, but after installing it, it seems a bit difficult to manage.
Here is what we need:
1. Template system for the site so that changes can be made to the design, and are then updated on all pages.
2. Ability for Technical Writer to submit new pages, or changes, and then go through approval of manager, and then get posted.
3. The menu navigation for the system myst be a roll-over style to assist in quick navigation, similar to www.vetdnacenter.com
4. Must work well for SEO.
Mambo seems quite complicated, and at the same time, is missing things I would like to see. At this point, I am thinking of just using some mod_rewrite commands with the .htacces file, a mysql database, and doing it all from scratch. I also looked at http://www.textpattern.com , which seems pretty simple, and my work for us. Any experience with it? |

I do think Mambo is the way to go.

Mambo is designed to do just this - let writers write, programmers program and designers design.

Mambo does all this, and since its web based you always know where everything is. It also keeps people from overwriting the documents.
For the design, you are only limited to your imagination. text based rollover links are what mambo was designed to do. Use the Search Engine Friendly mod. |
