Yahoo to rename Overture

Internet media company Yahoo will subsume its Overture web search advertising subsidiary into the main company brand.

Yahoo acquired Overture in 2003 for $US1.7 billion ($2.16 billion) . From early next quarter the Overture Services unit will be called Yahoo Search Marketing Solutions in the United States.
At the same time, Yahoo will launch a new US Advertising Solutions Centre, where businesses can purchase search advertising.

Yahoo Search Marketing Solutions will also be home to Content Match and Local Match, Yahoo's contextual and local advertising search services.

Most of Overture's international markets will be re-branded at a later date, but Japan and Korea will keep the Overture brand.
