| Spider friendly copy can be written in many ways. The most significant method is utilizing three search terms or phrases that your paying customers actually use to find your services or product. Ask yourself, what is my service or product? Who buys it? What search terms will they plug into the search field? Use these words in your copy and repeat them atleast three times. Don't repeat them more them five times. Forget fancy bold text or italics! Just stick with honest, straight forward sales copy that repeats your key words three to five times. This will help! |

I would have to dissagree. You really only can target one, sometimes 2 key phrases per web page. 3 - 5 times is usually too much. |

| Let's say that we have a website that offers widgets. These "widgets" are also known as whatchmacallits and thingamagigs. Should we place these key words within the copy of each page on our site? Or should we develop an individual page for each word? Does it matter where we place the words on the page? |

| If the words would mean the same, I would research the words and see what would be best for you. How much competition these words have and how much they are searched for. Then I would make a decision and target one word only, maybe mentioning some of the other words once or twice. |

| It is best to focus on specific keyword phrases on each page. Having specific pages describing your target keywords is essential. Dont lump them all together. Search is all about refinement and precice targeting. Thats why amazon.com doesnt show up #1 for every single product they sell (although they'd like to) |

I agree with all of you...
For our sites I focus on the top 3-10 phrases... get placed and then narrow down a bit from there lopping out those that don't do as hot as others; ultimately I'll finish out placing in the top of the SEs for anywhere from 3-5 of the top search phrases for that particular site.
I have focused certain pages specifically for 1-2 top searched phrases and have about the same turnout as the above mentioned strategy.
Ultimately though I think it boils down to the site itself, the theme, how competitive the market, etc...
but we've certainly had great results utilizing all of the strategies you guys have mentioned. |
