Hi all,
For some time there have been many debates about how many links one should have on their links page and how many are too many.
Whereas Google's concerned and they do say this specifically, not to have more than 100 links on a page. This does include your onsite links (internal to your other pages).
[I will post the link to this Google page once I find it again - it's been a couple of weeks and the last time I went to look it up they moved the page.]
I would suggest not having more than 50-60 just so that you retain a potential resource for your visitors without creating a huge endless list of partners.
best,

I would also suggest to categorize your links pages. Nobody is going to look through a links page with 100 links that are of many different categories. If you have categories and maybe also sub categories, you will have more visitors look through them.
Now, you might say, I don't care if my visitors click on those links or nor or even visit those pages. That is a wrong way of looking at it. Those links pages should be there to provide your visitors with valuable resources. Not just for search engine reasons. Besides that, it also looks good to your link partners if you send them some traffic. Maybe they can give your website a better listing because of that! |

Definitely put your links into categories especially as you start adding many, many to your site... keep the categories relative to your site's theme however as ultimately you want the search engines to view your site as an authority on the theme topic.
